Livingston Christian Schools 5th Grade May 10-14
Bible: Students are studying the book of Psalms. We will discuss why hiding God's word in our hearts and minds is so pleasing to God. Bible quizzes 25,26, and 27 are set for Tuesday, May 11. Students were provided notes last week for these quizzes. We will also begin a new Bible memory passage found in Romans 8:26-28. This week students are responsible for memorizing Romans 8:26 on Friday, May 14.
Spelling: L31 words are technology terms. Spelling sentences are due Thursday, May 13 while the pretest and final test are set for Wednesday and Friday, respectivley.

Language Arts: The reading selection this week is entitled The West Begins, pgs. 206-217. The comprehension quiz is due Thursday, May 13. This is a exerpt from By the Shores of Silver Lake written by Laura Ingalls Wilder as her family journeyed over the prairies of the Dakota Territory during the 1870's.
Grammar lessons continue to provide practice identifying pronouns. Students should prepare for a test on Friday, May 14 by using their grammar packet to study.
Writing Workshop time will be devoted to completing the Science Research Paper and writing a Tall Tale set in the wild west. The research paper is due Friday, May 14 and the tall tale is due Wednesday, May 26.
Math: Students will review material presented in chapter 10 for a test on Thursday, May 13.
History: The first government of the United States had many problems and successes. Leaders had to work together to decide on a new plan of government. As a result, delegates created three branches of government.
Science: Science research project board and paper due Friday, May 14.
